Services

Portuguese Congregation

Our Brazilian congregation offers services in Portuguese Sunday evenings at 7:00 pm.

I am Helio Pacheco, pastor of the Philadelphia Presbiteriana Brasileira Church. I’ve been married to Selma for 38 years. We have two daughters; Selma Cristina is married to Luiz Guilherme and they have two girls, and Daniela is married to Roberto and they have a boy.

We have been pastoring our church for 17 years. I have a degree in Theology from Brazil while my wife has a degree in Psychology, and we work together with a group of Brazilians and Latinos here in Kissimmee. Shepherding immigrants is a huge challenge, because immigrants work hard and have little time for the family or church, but they need a spiritual support group, so the church becomes that support.

Today we have approximately 25 adults and young people, and 7 children, in our group. We have our service on Sundays at 7:00 pm. During the week we gather in homes to study the Word of God. We trained leaders of these home groups so that they would have the church’s vision table to evangelize and support the people who come to the meetings during the week; with the aim of bringing these people to attend the services on Sundays.

We are grateful to God for the support that First Kissimmee Presbyterian Church has in hosting us and for the trust in our group. We are also connected to the Central Florida Presbytery that has supported us. God continue to bless the lives of the dear brothers of Kissimmee Presbyterian Church.

Operating under the guidance of the First Presbyterian Church of Kissimmee(FPC), the Korean Ministry began its service to the Korean community residing in the Kissimmee area in 2015 and has continued its ministry to this day. The mission of the Korean Ministry is to nurture the Korean residents of the Kissimmee area into disciples of Jesus Christ, thereby becoming a community that bears witness to the Gospel of the Lord’s Cross and Resurrection to the ends of the earth. To this end, the ministry gathers collectively on Sundays for worship services; holds midweek Bible study meetings centered around “Solivita” groups; strives to live out the Gospel— serving neighbors and bearing witness to Christ—in their daily lives; and provides regular monthly support to missionaries.

Rev. Seonguk Lim(Steve), who serves the Korean Ministry, pursued his theological education at the University of Sydney(Australia, BA), Chongshin University Graduate School of Theology(Korea, MDiv), Biblical Theological Seminary(USA, MA), and Midwest University(USA, DL). He has served as a Teaching Elder within the Presbyterian Church(USA)[PCUSA] since 2016. Rev. Lim can be reached by phone at 407-913-9070 or via email at ableinhim@gmail.com.

As the majority of our congregation consists of members who reside here only during the winter season—commonly known as “snowbirds”—we have decided to tentatively suspend our Sunday worship services for the upcoming summer season. For further details, please contact Rev. Lim.
